I admire songwriters. They take regular, everyday situations and turn them into grand, beautiful scenes. It’s like they have an innate ability to do that. Almost like they can see the beauty in dirty situations…
I wish I had that. I look and look and scrounge and dig to try to find just a glimmer of the beauty that is in a situation. Not very efficient if you ask me.
So here’s a challenge to myself (and any others who have this same problem): I’m going to keep my eyes open…looking for this beauty.
I have a feeling that it’s not just the fact that I don’t have the ability to see the beauty…it’s that my eyes aren’t open wide enough to see it.
